Other day long events included a 50/50 raffle.
A mime performance, that included two dramatic acts about mental illness, and about drug abuse.

As the evening drew to a close, the program ended with the lighting of the candles for the customary Candlelight vigil.
Event planners hoped to bring community awareness to mental illness and to the crisis of finding quality community care. Those staff who provide direct services to the mental health community receive one of the lowest starting  salaries of any class of human service workers in the state.

This impacts on the quality of staff, and ultimately to the quality of services and treatment they provide.

It is this issue that energized members of this affiliate to volunteer to stage this successfully rally
